The article started with the story of Roborn’s co-founder Mark Mak establishing the business of Roborn from scratch. Roborn chose to set up a subsidiary branch in Qian Hai Shenzhen to enjoy local policies and facilities of supporting Hong Kong youth entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, Roborn set up a workshop in Jiangmen, which can provide large space for the manufacture and testing of robots. Setting foot early in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Roborn has taken full advantage of the mature production chain in the Pearl River Delta and the complete supply of various parts and components, not only benefitting a lot from the regional specialization, but also gaining the opportunity of cooperating with the China Mobile and ZTE to jointly develop China’s first 5G motion control humanoid robot, which was showcased in various provinces across the country for 5G testing, and even sent to countries along the “Belt and Road” as a national “ambassador”.
In the article, Mark said. “I think through this cooperation, on the one hand, it proves that Hong Kong’s local technology can reach the national level, and on the other hand, it proves that the prospect of scientific research cooperation between Hong Kong and the mainland China is bright and profound.
