A delegation of Mr. Vic Yau, Director of the Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office (NMCO), Ms.Pecvin Yong, Deputy Director, NMCO cum Secretary to Advisory Committee on the Northern Metropolis, and Mr. Heinz Wong, Engineer (North Metropolitan), visited Roborn’s Cyberport office last Thursday (February 22nd). They engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges with representatives from Cyberport and Professor Larry Poon, CEO of Roborn, on various aspects of future innovation and entrepreneurship, digital applications, and comprehensive planning for the North Metropolitan District. The delegation sought a comprehensive understanding of how Cyberport effectively manages its digital technology and innovation center and supports technology start-ups. The aim is to collectively promote the North Metropolitan District as an international hub for innovation and technology.
Professor Poon Ka Yang shared Roborn’s success story, highlighting how their mechanical technology effectively assists various industries and actively promotes intelligent applications in areas such as healthcare, education, and epidemic prevention and disinfection. During the visit, guests were invited to experience Roborn’s new technology, the intelligent robotic arm. This robotic arm not only allows remote operation but also incorporates a force feedback system, enabling safe and precise mechanical operations, a significant breakthrough in technology.
The Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office plays the role of overall advocacy and coordination in promoting the development of the North Metropolitan District. This visit and inspection provided representatives with a better understanding of the current research and development landscape of innovation and technology enterprises in Hong Kong. Through exchanges and communication with Cyberport representatives, they gained insights from Hong Kong’s experience in promoting the North District as an international hub for innovation and technology.
