Today, several clients and friends of Roborn shared with the company that they saw Roborn’s latest outdoor disinfection robot, Sau Wu, featured on TVB News. According to the news report, “To combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the Innovation and Technology Commission launched a special call under the Public Sector Trial Scheme to support the development of pandemic prevention products and technology applications.”

With two Engineering degrees from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) under his belt, Mark, Co-founder of Roborn credits HKUST for allowing his entrepreneurial career to take off this successfully, in an interview by HKUST Alumni office.

Amid COVID-19, the government’s “Public Sector Trial Scheme” supported anti-epidemic technology. Roborn developed an outdoor disinfection robot, tested by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and Harbour Office in areas like Western District, Wan Chai, and Tsuen Wan waterfronts.

Driven by the belief of being built in Hong Kong for Hong Kong, Roborn has independently developed a series of anti-epidemic robots to stand together with the community. Roborn firmly believes that with the collaboration of our partners, we can overcome the challenges of the pandemic.

Roborn ME3 robot up to 1.8 meters high with flexible and dexterous finger movements is controlled by the lightweight motion detection technology and algorithm system. Through human body movement, user can directly control the robot to realize human-machine cooperation and virtual interaction.
